Turkish primary-level efl teachers’ views on the scope and effectiveness of content-based instruction

چکیده

The present study aims to report on the perceptions of a group English as foreign (EFL) teachers’ content-based instruction (CBI) in language teaching and its effectiveness for primary school students. teachers participating offered through CBI they were interviewed about their perspectives terms lessons nature overall program. In-service working with young learners received questions CBI, advantages disadvantages implementation experiences observations it. results show that is major opportunity increase quality learners. Teaching learning content fun worthwhile both students teachers. Data collected focus interview reveal have positive attitudes towards are quite informed scope this instructional program Findings important implications policy makers educational planning Turkey by creating authentic opportunities integrating matter instruction.
